The Intro to Boxing Program

Our Intro to Boxing program is the perfect way to experience the sport if you're a beginner. We provide the gloves and wraps, so you don't need to invest in any equipment. For just $75, you can experience our welcoming atmosphere and start your boxing journey with us. This group program is a great way to get a feel for the gym and our instructors.

I was nervous about trying boxing since it was new to me. After walking past the gym many times, I finally decided to walk in and was encouraged to sign up for the Intro to Boxing program, which was perfect for someone with no prior experience. Over the two weeks, the instructors gave us a solid foundation in footwork, punches, techniques, defense, and the mental approach to boxing. Even though it was a group class, the instructors made a point to give individual feedback and corrections, which helped me improve and stay motivated. It's been a lot of fun learning a new sport, not to mention a great workout! I've also really appreciated the welcoming community - from the other people in my classes, to the many instructors who are around and ready to help. After completing this program, I'm excited to continue my boxing journey and build on what I've learned.

What You'll Learn in Class

Our Intro to Boxing class is 60 minutes and is designed for those with little to no experience. We'll teach you the foundational elements of boxing, which offer both physical and mental benefits.

Stance and Foundation

You'll learn the proper boxing stance on day one. We cover the key fundamentals:

  • Punching: You'll learn the basic punches—the jab, the cross, the hook, and the uppercut—and practice them in drills to create punch combinations.
  • Defense: We'll teach you fundamental defensive techniques, including blocking, slipping, bobbing, and weaving.
  • Footwork: You'll improve your movement, balance, and coordination through specific drills like jumping rope.

Drills and Conditioning

Your trainer will work with you on a bag to develop different skills, such as punching faster and harder. You'll also work on core strength and conditioning, as a strong core is essential for power and balance.
